The Upcoming Holidays in the Smokies

The holidays are right around the corner, and the Smokies will be lit up with activity within the coming weeks.

Gatlinburg has a lot of returning events this year, like the perennial favorite, the Festival of Trees (www.festivaloftrees.com), alongside the Great Smoky Arts and Crafts Community Holiday Show and the Nutcracker "Sweet" all throughout the weekend at the H.L. Mills auditorium in downtown Gatlinburg. The trolleys are doing more tours of the lights throughout the city and the Gatlinburg Thanksgiving Bowl (football tournament) is back for its 38th year (!) up in Mills Park near Gatlinburg Pittman High School.

Pigeon Forge will be a great place for entertainment at Dollywood with their Smoky Mountain Christmas, which is something you just need to see for all the lights and shows and parades they do almost every night. The Tanger Mall and the many outlets in Pigeon Forge also make great places for shopping and saving money for your Smoky Mountain Vacation.

You can get more information at www.eventsgatlinburg.com and www.mypigeonforge.com for more information on special events in the Smokies.
