Mid July Special Events

July becomes a quieter, possibly the quietest, month of summer for the Smokies. With The 4th of July accomplished, the next thing people look at is Back-To-School season in early-mid August. While many see this as "the dog days of summer", a lull in the action exasperated by high humidity and nothing to do, this is definitely the wrong way to look at it.

Here's a quick look at several things going on in July for the area:

Kidsfest
From now until August 7th, Dollywood is THE center for children's and family entertainment in the Smokies with performers, an incredible bubble show, "Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs" 4D experience, roving characters all in addition to Dollywood's year-round entertainment and rides. www.dollywood.com

Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales
Also currently entertaining the Smoky Mountain guests is the 6th Annual Smoky Mountain Tunes and Tales; featuring a downtown-wide array of performers playing music, telling stories and dancing throughout the evening in the city of Gatlinburg. Free to the public and going on 7 nights a week. www.smokymountaintunesandtales.com

Gatlinburg Craftsmen's Fair
July 15-23rd
The Gatlinburg Craftsmen's Fair is what happens when you take most, if not all, of the Arts and Crafts Community and put them under one roof in downtown Gatlinburg. Artist and their art are all on display at W.L. Mills in downtown Gatlinburg. Admission is $6.00. www.craftsmenfair.com

Gallagher
July 23rd
Too hot for Branson, Gallagher returns to Pigeon Forge after a widely talked about show back in the Spring for an encore performance! The Grand Majestic Theater will be featuring the watermelon assassin on July 23rd and it should be another smash performance - pun thoroughly intended. www.thegrandmajestic.com

Free Parkway Trolley!
June 27th - August 14th
From Stoplight #1 to Stoplight #10 in downtown Gatlinburg, all trolley rides are now FREE to the general public. This will make getting around town and hitting your favorite spots much easier and far more convenient. www.gatlinburg.com
