Special Events For May

Welcome to the festival of the feasts here in the Smokies! We have events going on from mid-May to late in each city that offer the best in what Southern cuisine has to offer with some additional awesomeness added in.

Let's look:

Gatlinburg - Gatlinburg Beans and Cornbread Festival
5/12/16

Not everyday you get to celebrate the Southern wonder that is the mixture of beans and cornbread, so we found time to make May 12th a time to celebrate it. From 5:00PM to 8:00PM between stoplights #6 and #8, many vendors that include local restaurants, experts from abroad and everything in between will set up tables for people to have as much as they want with the purchase of an admission spoon ($10.00). There will be entertainment for the evening provided by Nashville country/honkytonk singer Tara Thompson and much more. See www.gatlinburg.com/events/details.aspx?id=138 for details.

Pigeon Forge - Dollywood's Barbeque and Bluegrass
5/13/16 - 5/22/16

Dollywood has the longest marathon of merriment for this month and you'll definitely want to check it out. For this awesome week-and-a-half, the price of admission at Dollywood includes round-the-clock performances from Backline, Flatt Lonesome, The Boxcars, The Steeldrivers, Loose Strings Band, Steve Gulley & New Pinnacle and almost two dozen additional artists playing throughout the park and the best in pulled pork, smoked sausage, chicken and much more served at Market Square. See more on this at www.dollywood.com.

Sevierville - Bloomin' BBQ and Bluegrass
5/20/16 - 5/21/16

There aren't many special events that shutdown downtown Sevierville around the Sevier County courthouse, but the Bloomin' BBQ and Bluegrass makes it count with a one-and-one-half day festival where dozens of cooking teams will be providing the food, entertainers will provide the aural culture every hour the festival is in play, and the avenues around the courthouse will have arts and crafts vendors showcasing a variety of worthwhile things to look at and consider for yourself. www.bloominbbq.com

And don't forget we have Wilderness Wildlife week going on this month between May 18th and May 22nd at the LeConte Conference Center in downtown Pigeon Forge.

More special events to follow for June. www.allthesmokies.com.
